This page explains how to properly add a printer on faculty/staff  machines using either Macintosh or Windows.

====IP Address====
 
#If for some reason you are not able to locate the hostname, or are unable to add the printer via hostname, gather its IP address either by searching on greg, or collecting it from the printers configuration page.
 
#To print a configuration page, go to the physical printer, hit the menu selection buttons until '''Print Config Page''' displays on the small LCD screen.
 
#Hit the "OK" button, and the page will print.

Remove Old Printers

  1. Launch Managed Software Center, located in the Applications folder, or search for and open it in spotlight
  2. Managed Software Center's My Items tab gives a list of software and printers installed by Managed Software Center. If you'd like to remove software or printers installed by Managed Software Center simply click the Remove button across from the software or printer you'd like to remove

Install New Printers

  1. Launch Managed Software Center, located in the Applications folder, or search for and open it in spotlight
  2. In the search box in Managed Software Center, enter the name or part of the name of the printer you’d like to install (Printer names will be on a label on the printer)
  3. Click install for each printer you’d like to install
  4. Test the printer.


If you print to multiple departments, you will need the 鶹Ƶ Print Client.

  1. Launch Managed Software Center.
  2. Using the search bar or by scrolling, find PCClient2016 and click install
  3. Restart your machine and verify that 鶹Ƶ Print Client (Paper Cut Client) is running and you are logged in with your 鶹Ƶ credentials.

Set your Default Printer

  1. Click on the Apple Menu (a small black Apple in the upper left corner of your desktop)
  2. Click System Preferences
  3. Click Printers and Scanners
  4. Choose the Default Printer in the drop down menu

  1. Click on the windows icon in the bottom left corner of your screen
  2. Begin typing Devices and Printers and click on the result Windowsdevicesandprinters.png
  3. In the Devices and Printers window remove the old printer by right-clicking it and choose Remove Device

Installing New Printers

  1. Click on the windows icon in the bottom left corner of your screen
  2. In the Windows search type: \\marco.gustie.gac.edu and click enter.
  3. A window will open showing the list of available printers Marco.gustie.gac.edu.png
  4. Double click the printer (or printers) you want to install and wait for it to install.
  5. Test the printer.

If you print to multiple departments, you will need the 鶹Ƶ Print Client.

  2. On the Available Software tab, install the 鶹Ƶ Print Client.
  3. Restart your machine and verify that 鶹Ƶ Print Client (Paper Cut Client) is running and you are logged in with your 鶹Ƶ credentials.
