Scan to pdf
All the Canon multi-function devices (MFD) available to employees support scanning to a pdf. We recommend using the scan to a file share instead of email because it will store your files on a secure file share.

All files in the the _TempScan folder are deleted nightly.
Scanning to a file share is a secure method of scanning files from the Canon multi-function device to a file share for employees. Please follow the directions below to scan to your department's temporary scanning folder.
Scan on the Canon MFD
- On the Canon MFD, login using your id card or your credentials.
- Select Use Copier.
- Select Scan and send.
- In the address book, select the Department Name Temp Scan address.
- Place your items on the flatbed glass scanner or in the feeder.
- Click Start.
- When your items have completed scanning, click Send.
Access the scanned files on your computer
Windows
- Open This PC or Computer
- Open the Y: drive or type \\gustie.gac.edu\dept in the address bar to access your department share.
- Navigate to your Department folder->\_TempScan. All employees of your department can access and read files in this folder.
- Move the scanned files to another location.
Note: All files in the the _TempScan folder are deleted nightly.
MacOS
- In the Finder, choose Go -> Connect to Server.
- For the server path enter: smb://gustie.gac.edu/dept
- Navigate to your Department folder->\_TempScan. All employees of your department can access and read files in this folder.
- Move the scanned files to another location.

Add a Shortcut to your _TempScan Folder
For easier access, create a shortcut from your department's _TempScan folder and save it on your desktop.
