PuTTY
PuTTY is the name of a free software , Telnet, rlogin, and raw TCP client. PuTTY is installed on most Windows computers at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ.
If you're using PuTTY to access your home directory, you should use the host shell.gac.edu
.
"PuTTY" can also refer to the entire bundle of related applications the ssh client comes with (since they're usually downloaded at the same time):
- PuTTY - a Telnet and SSH client
- PSCP - a Secure Copy (SCP) client, i.e. command-line secure file copy
- PSFTP - a Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) client, i.e. general file transfer sessions much like File Transfer Protocol (FTP)
- PuTTYtel - a Telnet-only client
- Plink - a command-line interface to the PuTTY back ends
- Pageant - an SSH authentication agent for PuTTY, PSCP and Plink
- PuTTYgen - an RSA and DSA key generation utility.
