Laboratory Safety and Chemical Hygiene is managed by the Chemical Hygiene and Laboratory Safety Officer (CHLSO) at Â鶹ÊÓƵ. The Chemical Hygiene Plan (CHP) describes the policy that Â鶹ÊÓƵ implements to maintain safe laboratory conditions for Â鶹ÊÓƵ employees and students, you can find a copy of the CHP here:

Laboratory safety training is required annually for Â鶹ÊÓƵ employees (faculty, staff, student employees, teaching assistants) that work with chemical hazards. Reporting of laboratory safety incidents is mandatory. However, please call Campus Safety (x8888) if there is an emergency or a laboratory incident that exceeds your capacity to manage. Please use the following form to report a laboratory safety incident:

As part of our commitment to laboratory safety, please do not hesitate to contact the CHLSO to discuss laboratory safety interventions such as PPE, to discuss safety considerations for a new lab protocol/experiment, to monitor the air quality of a lab, or to view and discuss safety considerations for a laboratory space, or any of the policy and procedures described herein.
