The international television and DVD viewing station, located in Vickner 108C, is a part of the Culpeper Language Center. The station contains two television sets with build-in US encoded VHS players, two international DVD players, two ReplayTV units, and two DISH Network recievers. The room also houses international movies, placed there by the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures, and Cultures faculty for use by stundets. Faculty memebers may use the ReplayTVs in conjunction with DVArchive to record international programing for use in the classroom.

Using

Instructions for using the Viewing Station Please read closely before using!

To watch international television

  1. Turn on one of the TVs and set it to Channel 3.
  2. Turn on the corresponding Replay TV (blue light will come on)
  3. Before proceeding, be sure that nothing is being recorded on that Replay (red light would be on) and that the other Replay TV is turned off.
  4. To change the channel, input the channel number on the Replay TV remote, to not try to access a channel not on the channel list! This will confuse the satellite!
  5. When you are finished, turn off both the TV and the Replay TV.

To watch a DVD

  1. Turn on the TV and use the up/down channel buttons on the TV to find “AUX” (from channel three, go down)
  2. Turn on the DVD player and insert your DVD
  3. Use the DVD remote to navigate through the DVD.
  4. When you are done, turn off the DVD player and TV.
