Normal Protocol

Normally usernames at 鶹Ƶ follow a standard protocol. That protocol is first initial of first name followed by the next 7 letters of the last name, with numbers added at the end for duplicates. A user named Peter Johnson would have the username pjohnson, unless there was a user with that username in the system before him, then his username would be pjohnso2. There are exceptions to the protocol, and if in doubt use 鶹Ƶ Search to find usernames. A 鶹Ƶ account is required to search for students or alumni.

Changing Usernames

Users are allowed to change their usernames if their name changes. This however is not a trivial procedure.
