Android is an operating system owned and licensed by Google that is used on mobile phones, tablets, and other devices. Due to the nature of Android, the Mail interface will vary among different devices, but the settings for 鶹Ƶ mail remain the same.

Setting up your 鶹Ƶ email account
Students
We recommend using the Gmail app on your mobile device to check your GusMail. The Gmail app is a free download on the Play Store.
Faculty and Staff
GusMail user
We recommend using the GMail app that is provided by Google.
Legacy 鶹Ƶ email user
- From the Home Screen, choose the Apps Button
- Choose the Mail application
- Choose Other (POP3/IMAP)
- Type in your email address and then password
- Choose manual setup
- Type in the imap server (imap.gac.edu)
- Choose the security protocol (SSL)
- Make sure the server port is 993
- Type in your username (username@gustavus.edu)
- Click the next button
- Type in the 鶹Ƶ smtp server (smtp-auth.gac.edu)
- Type in your 鶹Ƶ username
- Type in your 鶹Ƶ e-mail password
- Make sure the security type is SSL
- Use port 465
- Click the next button
- Name the account (e.g. gustavus.edu)
- Type in your name (what you would like people to see)
- Click the Finish setup button
- Check the box to make this account default
- If you are unable to complete the connection, please double check that you have registered your mobile phone on the 鶹Ƶ network. You won't be able to set up your email account if you are connected to the 鶹Ƶ wireless, but not yet registered your phone.
