A USB flash drive is a storage medium for data such as Word documents, pictures, music, etc.

They are more reliable than the 3.5 inch floppy disks and CDs.

They plug into the USB ports of any computer and act as a small hard drive that you can copy and save files to.

They come in various sizes all the way from 16MB to 4GB in the consumer market.
