Anti-virus
Anti-virus software scans a computer to find malware and computer viruses, and then attempts to remove the possible threats posed by that malware or virus. It uses a library of "Signatures" to do this, which are used to search for malicious patterns within the operating system's code and are only updated as viruses are created.
At 鶹Ƶ, we use Symantec Endpoint Protection, which is a product released by Symantec. We recommend that all students use this anti-virus, but if a student has already purchased a full version of an anti-virus software they can opt to use that instead. For students to connect at all to the network they must have either option.
