Random access memory (RAM) is the primary storage for running applications and data.

How much do I have?

Windows 2000

1. Right-click 'My Computer' on the desktop.
2. Click Properties

1. Under the General tab, you will notice it will say 'Computer:' - it should say the amount of RAM. (e.g. 256 MB or 256,000 Kb)

Windows XP

Mac OS X

1. Click on the Blue Apple in the upper left hand corner of the screen.
2. Click About this Mac...
3. It should read - (e.g. Memory: 512 MB DDR SDRAM)

How much should I have?

All �鶹��Ƶ owned computers should have at least 512MB as of December 2006. If you find out that you only have 256MB, please contact the Technology Helpline.
