An Ethernet cord or Ethernet cable is a cable that is used to connect a computer to a network and resembles a phone cord.

Where to get one

Returning students

Please stop by the Technology Services office in Olin to pick one up, free of charge. If you need one longer than 25 feet, you will need to buy one at any computer retail store.

First-year students

If you are going to be a first-year Gustie in the fall, two cords—one for you, and one for your roommate—will be placed in your residence hall room prior to your arrival.

Length

A length of 25 feet should be adequate for most students and situations.
