Webmail refers to a web-based e-mail client.

ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ provides a webmail client for anybody with a ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ e-mail account. It is a great way to check e-mail because of its speed, ease-of-use, and worldwide availability. It is located at .

Tips

Viewing Newest Unseen Message First

  1. Click on Preferences (Gear wheel across the top menu).
  2. Select ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ WebMail Preferences
  3. Under Mailbox section, select Mailbox Display
  4. Set Default sorting criteria to Date, Default sorting direction to Descending.

Spam Folder Preferences and Viewing

  1. Click on the Preferences (Gear wheel across the top menu).
  2. Select ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ WebMail Preferences
  3. Under the Message section, select Spam Reporting
  4. Set your Spam mailbox to Filtered_by_GAC. (If this folder does not show up, select the Folder Actions pop-down. Select Show All Mailboxes. Right-click Filtered_by_GAC and select Subscribe.)
  5. You can select how often you want to purge (or empty) your Spam folder.
  6. Click Save to update.
  7. You can now view your Spam folder.

Folders should be displayed automatically at the bottom of the left menubar.

Subscribing to Folders

  1. Left-click the Folder Actions tab in the left menu bar and choose Show All Mailboxes. Your mailboxes that you are not subscribed to will appear in italic.
  2. Right-click on the desired folder and choose Subscribe.

Deleting Folders

Right-click on the folder you want to delete in the left menubar and choose Delete.

Sending Linked Attachments

Sending linked attachments is the easiest and most efficient way to send large files, send large files to multiple recipients, or files that have questionable extensions (.exe).

  1. Log into WebMail in Basic Mode.
  2. Compose your message.
  3. In the Attachments section of the message composition window, click Choose File.
  4. Choose the file you want to attach and wait for it to upload.
  5. Set the Link Attachments? pop down to Yes.

The recipient will receive a message with a link in it (rather than the attachment). They can then download the attachment from the server, if they wish.

Saving Sent Attachments

  1. Click on Preferences (gear wheel across the top menu).
  2. Select ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ WebMail Preferences
  3. Under Compose section, select Sent Mail
  4. Select Save attachments in the Should attachments be saved in the sent-mail message?
  5. You can also set options for how often you purge (empty) your sent mailbox.

Saving Sent Messages

ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ Webmail automatically saves sent messages in a folder named Sent on the left toolbar.

Automatically Saving Drafts

  1. Click on Preferences (gear wheel across the top menu).
  2. Select ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ WebMail Preferences
  3. Under Compose section, select Drafts
  4. Select your preference for saving drafts as you compose in the Save drafts automatically while composing? drop down.

Now a draft of the messages you are composing, will be automatically saved.

Accessing your Home Directory

Click on File Manager on the top tool bar.

You then will be able to browse your Home Directory and MyData files.

Setting a Signature

  1. Click on Preferences (gear wheel across the top menu).
  2. Select ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ WebMail Preferences
  3. Under General section, select 'Personal Information
  4. Select the identity you want to change.
  5. Type your desired signature in the Your signature area.
  6. Click Save

Using Filters

  1. Log into WebMail, hover over the ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ Webmail menu in the top left corner of the yellow toolbar.
  2. Under the ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ Webmail column, click on Filters.
  3. Click New Rule.
  4. Set the criterion for your filter (see example below).
  5. Activate your new filter. Select Preferences > ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ Webmail > under General click Filters.
  6. Select how you wish to apply the filter.

Example

Setting a filter to move all ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅-l messages into a folder called gustavus-l.

  1. Create a ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅-l folder - from the Folder Actions drop down select New Mailbox. Create a mailbox called ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅-l
  2. In the Filter set up, select New Rule

  1. Name the rule - ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅-l
  2. Set the rule to look at the To: field
  3. Set the To: requirement to Contains ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅-l
  4. Set the action (Do this) to Deliver to folder...
  5. Set the folder to be ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅-l
  6. Click Save.
  7. Activate the filter - Preference > ΒιΆΉΚΣΖ΅ WebMail Preferences
  8. From the General section select Filters.
  9. Check Apply filter rules upon logging on or whenever inbox is displayed.
  10. Click Save.
