Random access memory (RAM) is the primary storage for running applications and data.
How much do I have?
Windows XP
- Right-click 'My Computer' on the desktop.
- Click Properties
- Under the General tab, you will notice it will say 'Computer:' - it should say the amount of RAM. (e.g. 256 MB or 256,000 Kb)
Mac OS X
- Click on the Blue Apple in the upper left hand corner of the screen.
- Click About this Mac...
- It should read - (e.g. Memory: 512 MB DDR SDRAM)
