The Culpeper Language Center is an integral component of the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures, and Cultures. The Center is a specialized language learning computer lab which provides students access to resources and materials in and about foreign languages.
The center also houses a media development station and an international television and DVD viewing station. The media developement station helps faculty and students to develop multimedia course materials that take full advantage of the Center's capabilities. The international television and DVD viewing station is equipped with two televisions, each connected to a VCR, international DVD player, ReplayTV and DISH Network reciever. The Culpeper's DISH Network subscription includes international programing for Spanish, German, French, Russian and Japanese.
The Culpeper center is maintained by the Culpeper Director and is staffed with approximately a dozen Culpeper student employees. All members of the Culpeper staff are trained to support all the equipment in the labs, with specific focus on the computer programs most heavily used by the Department of Modern Languages
The Culpeper Language Center is funded by the Culpeper Foundation and the Barbara Osher Foundation for the study of foreign languages.

The Culpeper Language Center is located on the first floor of Vickner Hall.

- Fri: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Sat: 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- Sun: 1:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.

Equipment
The Culpeper Language Center computer lab currently contains 23 Macintosh-based computers, one Epson 2400 scanner, one HP Laserjet 4100 printer, a digital projector, DVD player, VCR and media cart containing a television, international VCR and DVD player. The Center's Viewing Station contains two tevevision-VCR units, two international DVD players, two ReplayTVs, and two DISH recievers. The Center's Developement Station includes an international VCR, DVD, and MiniDV dubbing system as well as a Macintosh computer containing media editing programs.
