A browser cache is a feature built into web browsers that caches web documents in order to reduce bandwidth usage, server load, and perceived "lag".

Clearing browser cache
Firefox 17
To clear your browser cache in Mozilla Firefox, perform the following steps:
- Go to Tools-->Clear Recent History.
- Make sure Cache is checked.
- Select a time period from the "Time range to clear" drop-down box.
- Click "Clear Now".
Google Chrome
To clear your browser cache in Google Chrome, perform the following steps:
- Click Chrome at the top left of the screen.
- Select "Clear browsing data".
- Make sure "Empty the cache" is checked.
- Select a time period from the "Clear data from this period" drop-down box.
- Click the "Clear Browsing Data" button.
Internet Explorer 9
To clear your browser cache in Internet Explorer 9, perform the following steps:
- Go to Tools-->Delete Browsing History.
- Make sure "Preserve Favorites website data is unchecked".
- Make sure "Temporary Internet Files" and "Cookies" is checked.
- Click "Delete".
Safari
To clear your browser cache in Safari, perform the following steps:
- Go to the Safari menu.
- Then click on the Reset Safari.
- Click "remove all website data."
- Then click "Reset."
