Filezilla is a free, open source FTP client. It supports FTP, , and FTPS (FTP over SSL/). The client is available under many platforms, binaries for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X are provided. Filezilla can be downloaded and used to access your Home Directory from off campus.


Download Filezilla

To download the latest version of Filezilla, click the following link: , then select the appropriate client download for your platform. Download and install.

Windows 7

  1. From the start menu, locate Filezilla under its saved location then open it
  2. Along the Quickconnect bar, enter ftp.gac.edu in the Host Bar then follow with your username and password. Leave the Port open.
  3. Click Quickconnect
  4. Select establish a new connection, then click OK. (Your home directory should open up as a new tab along the right side your current tab.)
  5. Select the files which you would like to transfer

Mac OS X

  1. From the Spolight, locate Filezilla under the its saved location then open it
