Windows XP is an operating system made by Microsoft Corporation. It was first released in October, 2001 and continues to be one of the most common operating systems used on personal computers today. has a which contains additional general information about the Operating System.
Connecting to the Network
Windows XP poses many more security risks than other operating systems, like Mac OS X or Linux. Therefore, Technology Services requires Windows machines connected to our network to meet certain basic requirements:
- Your computer must have the most recent Windows updates
- Your computer must have Symantec Anti-Virus installed and have updated virus definitions
